After the rain

We had a nice gentle rain here yesterday, it really cleared the haze out of the air. If you look at the pictures below, you can see the view from my neighborhood, looking toward the east. In the foreground, some buildings from the neighborhood. If you look closely at the roof in the second photo, you can see some cylindrical white objects. These are actually solar water heaters. In Israel, every house has a solar water heater, and all summer long we have nice hot water, heated just by the sun. This is a great way of using solar energy, and I think Israel is very energy-efficient in this way.

And if you really look carefully, way in the distance you can see the mountains of Jordan. In the middle, is the Jordan River Valley. If you were to travel southwards a bit through that valley, you would come to the Dead Sea. Northwards: the Sea of Galilee.
We don't often have such a clear view, but after a rain, many times it happens.
