I had fun showing how to piece a string block on a paper foundation at the meeting. String piecing will always be my first love, I think. Being able to create something beautiful from the smallest snippets of fabric is truly miraculous to me, and I never cease to be amazed by it.
Here is a baby quilt I made a couple of years ago, out of those happy reproduction fabrics. This one was pieced onto fabric foundations, and has no batting or quilting. Just tied simply at the corners of the blocks with red embroidery floss. The colors and fabrics bring a smile to my face whenever I see it.
