Just Checking In

In case you're worried I have fallen off the side of the planet somehow...

I've just been really busy....
I put together my Dresden Plate blocks in the most basic setting. I had big plans for doing something really unusual with these, but in the end decided to just keep it simple. I'll do some quick meander quilting, then I have some darling fabric for the binding--red with white polka dots. Don't you just love dots?
Here's the other thing that I've been busy with. Someone brought us 4 motherless kittens. We think they were about 3-4 weeks old, as their eyes were already open. So for the last week and a half, we've been feeding them kitten formula with a syringe. Every 2-3 hours, even at night. Well, luckily DD Menucha has been taking the night shift. And while I go to my class in the morning, my DH has been feeding them. This is a big thing for him--he's not really an animal lover. But those kitties sure do love him! They think he's their mommy and they follow him around all over the place. :)

Menucha has named the kittens after members of the Addams Family: Gomez, Morticia, Fester, and Wednesday. This has made it easier to tell them apart, and it also gives us something to laugh about when they are all crying at once to be fed!

Yes, I said something about going to a class. I am taking a course in Transcription, 3 days a week. It's pretty intensive and I'm learning a lot. Hopefully I will have a job with the company after the course is completed. The good thing about it is I would be able to work at home, which is the best for me. The bad thing about it is...less time to quilt. But maybe I would have more money for fabric...hmmm.

The quilt is charming and will be fantastic when finished. I like simple too.
Those cats are just darling and I don't think your daughter will give them up in the future.
Continued success on your classes.
Fondly, Etty

Oh, those kittens are adorable and I love how you're all taking care of them together (lucky little kittens!). And your quilt is gorgeous. I really love those dresdens - especially with the red in the middle!

Polka dot binding sounds like the perfect finish to your Dresden quilt! Tell your DH that cats just know who's NOT the animal lover...it's the same with my husband. They'll MAKE you like them, you have no choice!!
