What I'm working on-and a question

In my last post, I showed a picture of an almost-finished doll quilt top. The center was made out of pieces I had cut off when I made a different quilt a couple of months ago.  Rather than throw them away or waste them, I just sewed the off-cuts together randomly.
I wanted to use a yellow for the outer border, but I think the one I picked is a bit too bright...and doesn't really match those 40's fabrics.
What do you think? Should I un-sew the borders (they're not completely sewed on yet anyway) and continue to search for just the right border fabric? Or should I just charge blindly ahead and keep the borders as they are?  I really need some advice here before I get out the handy-dandy seam ripper!

Hmm, my vote is for charge ahead...but I also think that you should listen to your gut. If it tells you to un-sew them, then do it (plus you can see the colors much better in person than we can on the computer screen).

The yellow does look too bright on the computer. Only you can tell if it's too bright. I trust your judgement.

Susan you know how I LOVE yellow. Personally though I think this color yellow is a bit much for the 30's colors in the quilt.
Me, I would change it.

I like it...1940s with attitude!

I think the yellow is too loud. It seems like it grabs your attention away from the piecework in the center instead of complimenting it. I'd go with a more subdued color for the border.

I think the yellow is too much.
I'd be changing it for something like a softer tone or even white.
But that's me!
