A Short Post

It sure feels like I have been away for a long time. Have been lost in the medical merry-go-round for over five weeks now. So lost, that at some point I woke up and remembered that I hadn't even made a baby quilt for this little boy...

Luckily I found some charm squares in my stash, and quickly put this together:

Here are some of the fun fabrics...

I LOVE these little puppy dogs!

Children playing with hoops...

When this was done, I came across something else I had been hoarding. You know how you save up a special little project, just for a rainy day? Well, the rainy day came along and this was what I had saved up to work on: my first Schnibble! If you haven't been introduced to Schnibbles yet, they are the brainchild of Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's Quilt Company. All her little patterns are so darling. They just take a couple of charm packs and some yardage. The patterns are a little fussier than I'm used to (you really have to cut and piece accurately, and I have TOTALLY forgotten how to do that). Not only that, you have to lay out your pieces in order and keep them that way. I'm used to randomly picking pieces out of a paper bag, so this was a radical shock to my system. But here it is. This one is called "X-rated". The center is pieced and now I just have to put on the piano key borders. The picture doesn't really show how pretty the colors of the fabric (Portugal by April Cornell) are. Will try to get a better shot in daylight.

For all of you who are still following my blog while I am off taking care of my husband, I really appreciate you hanging in there. Things have definitely started to improve, and I hope to be back to normal life before too long.

You've been missed Susan. I'm so glad you've taken time to quilt. Keeping occupied with creativity helps get us through those bump-in-the-road times.
