A New Turn Circle

Last year I started a new project, to photograph all the interesting turn circles in Jerusalem. Each one is unique, and some of them are quite nice. I actually saw this one being built. It's not far from all the government buildings, the convention center, and the central bus station.

I like how many of the turn circles feature an olive tree in the middle. They are so gnarled and ancient looking. I heard that there is an olive tree in Israel that is known to be at least a thousand years old!

What a great photo! Reminds me of when I was a kid, a long time ago, and we worked so hard to raise money for planting trees in Israel.
