What I Am Working On

You know how you just get overwhelmed by scraps sometimes? How they just ADD UP? Well that's what's happening to me. My stash is overflowing its banks (no picture of this, sorry!) and it's time to take drastic action. So here I am, making my third String With Red Center quilt. The first one was made for my granddaughter Rivky, and the second one was a baby quilt that stays in my house for when babies come to visit. I guess the time has come to make one for me...unless one of my other grandchildren claims it for their own. Which could happen. I have a ton of 1930's and 1940's reproduction fabrics, and I hope this will help to tame my collection a bit. Although I have made 36 blocks already, and it doesn't look like the pile has gone down at all. :)

On the weather front: I know lots of you out there are still struggling with snow and ice and freezing temps, but here we are having a nice warming spell. Hope that means Spring is around the corner.
My neighbor's almond tree is in full bloom.

Some nice Spring-y sculpture spotted at the entrance to our neighborhood.

While at the nearby shopping mall, the winter decorations are still hanging. Not for much longer though!

Wow! What a beautiful quilt! It must feel so good to make a dent in the scrap pile!

I love how the red makes each block pop!

I really like this, especially with the red. It's lovely. Are those really all scraps?
