It feels like the last couple of months have gone by in a whirl. Lots of family and friends, and not much time for sewing. Just "stealing" a couple of minutes here and there to put in a stitch or two. A portable project has been best for this, tucked away in my purse for those moments when we are waiting at a doctor's office or the post office. So it's nice to see this little project start to take shape. Out of nowhere, eight blocks have materialized!
Only four more blocks to go. I ran out of the white-on-white fabric I was using for the background, so I ordered some more from our local quilt shop, Pissott. The lovely owner, Nurit, sent the fabric out last week, and I have to go to the post office today to pick it up.The fabric line I used for the blades is Everything But the Kitchen Sink, by RJR. I used 5" charm squares. I love the retro feel of the fabrics. Since I have a lot of charm squares left, I think I'll use them to make a piano keys border.
