Living with Nature

As you know, my house overlooks a beautiful forest and an amazing view of the Judean hills. The forest is full of wildlife--gazelles, foxes, turtles, porcupines, falcons, owls, wild dogs, snakes, lizards, and deadly scorpions, just to name some of the creatures we have seen over the years.

Well, I guess sometimes the wildlife feels like it needs to get in out of the heat and into a nice, cool house. This little fellow decided, over a month ago, that our house was just what the doctor ordered. So for the last month, we have been seeing him here and there in the house, but we've never been able to catch him, elusive little guy. I know the kittens have been following his movements with interest--they like anything that moves--but they weren't able to catch him either. This morning, I FINALLY found him and was able to shoo him back out where he belongs.
Bye, little guy. It's been fun.

I'll never forget the time when a quite large lizzard got into our house--did I sceam! I managed to get it into a cardboard box and put it outdoors.
