What I'm Working On

It was impossible to think of a name for today's post. So much has happened in my life recently, that I just fell back on the easiest possible way for a quilter to start writing...to tell you what I'm working on. My Dresden Plate quilt is all bound, and I machine quilted around all the "plates". This quilt has now become a take-along project, and I'm handquilting next to the seams of each "blade". There is a lot of time to do this nowadays. (the hard part to talk about is coming now. hold onto your seat.)
About 10 days ago, I got one of those calls that we always dread. I was at home in Israel, and my husband was calling from Baltimore, where he was on business. He didn't sound very good. I asked him what was wrong, and did someone die? "No", was the answer, "But I was in a car accident yesterday". The long and short of it is, my husband's little Toyota Corolla was hit broadside by a big SUV going really fast. The Toyota was totalled, and my husband was nearly totalled too. I hopped on a plane to the States, and that's where I am now. Luckily my husband is out of the hospital, but our days are spent mostly in doctors' offices, undergoing MORE tests, and talking to more doctors on the phone. It is going to take a while for him to heal from the accident, but it's a miracle he's alive, and the miracle of healing is happening too, one day at a time.
Please do keep us in your prayers.

Oh my goodness! I can't imagine getting that phone call and how long that plane ride back to the states must have felt for you! Wishing you both much strength and a quick recovery!
