Seen Below My Window

This morning we awoke to strange bird cries in the valley below our house. Those sounds could only mean one thing--the chukar birds are back!  They were too far away to take a good picture, so here is one I found through Google. The chukar is a fat little bird that runs along the rocks. They always seem to run in groups. It's cute to see them hustling along, back and forth. Every once in a while, they make the effort and fly a bit, but not too far--I don't know how they manage to get their fat bodies up in the air at all.
I really enjoy the special and varied birds we have here in Israel, and the chukar is no exception!

Make it a great day!

Cute little bird. We were never birdwatchers until we moved further into the country 4 years ago and noticed all the feathered residents in the neighborhood. We so enjoy their glorious singing. Another treasure God shares with man!
