What a tangled web we weave!

Have been working on a new scrap quilt this week. Those scraps have just gotten out of control! Someone has to put them in their place, and I guess it's gonna have to be me. So I decided to put them into a Spiderweb quilt.
The great thing about this is watching the pile of scraps dwindle gradually down. The bad thing about it is that it doesn't go down fast enough! Not only that, but it has taken over the kitchen table, and we need that table to eat on. So before every meal, I rush to brush the scraps off the table, into bags, into baskets, anything handy that's around.
This reminds me of a talk Jane Sassaman, that great art quilter from Chicago gave at my guild in Baltimore years ago. She said they only had one table in the house, and it was used strictly for her quilting. Her children never learned how to set a table, because they never ate at one! She had slides of her kids eating all over the place, perched on bar stools, sitting on the radiators, everywhere but at the table! I'm starting to feel like that!

That's a great way to piece those hexagons. I've never seen it done like that. I'll have to try it.
