Hand-rolled Sushi

We always have a lovely Friday night dinner in honor of the Shabbat (Sabbath). Traditional foods include challah bread, chicken soup, roast chicken, and potato kugel (pudding). I prefer lighter fare myself, and make a lot of salads and side dishes to balance out the heavier stuff. Today DD Menucha and I decided to make some sushi to go with our meal. This is the first time we made sushi by ourselves, and while it doesn't look particularly professional, it does taste good.
I will serve some brown rice too. Even though sushi is tasty, that white rice doesn't seem very nutritious to me. Since I'm a vegetarian, there's no fish in these.

Do you like sushi? Have you made your own at home? Isn't it fun?!

Hi Susan, I make "noramaki" with sweet brown rice cooked with short grain brown rice, blanched carrot and green onion, sometimes avocado, and umobushi paste. We are also vegetarians so no fish for us either. We really like it and hope y'all enjoys yours. Good Shabbos.
